It has been 10 years now since the release of the longest-in-production film in history, Disney’s animated short Destino. Begun in 1945 as a collaboration between Disney Studios artist John Hench and surrealist painter Salvador Dali (who was enjoying a sojourn in Hollywood at the time, also working on the Alfred Hitchcock film Spellbound), the film was abandoned after about eight months of work, with only seventeen seconds to show for it. Long considered legendary, the film was unearthed by Roy E. Disney in 1999, and completed in 2003.

Nightcrawler to Return in 'Amazing X-Men'

Comic-Con News: At the X-Men panel Marvel Comics announced that Nightcrawler, one of the most beloved X-Men of all time who was killed in the 2010 X-Men crossover event Second Coming, will return to the realm of the living in the pages of Amazing X-Men, a new ongoing series written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Ed McGuinness that debuts in November.

Warner Bros. Confirms Batman/Superman Movie for 2015

DC fans rejoiced this weekend when Man of Steel director came out on stage at Comic-Con and announced… “It’s official that we are going to make another Superman movie. I’ve poured through the DC universe for a way to tell this thing.”
Set for release in 2015, this sequel is to be directed by Zack Snyder and written by David S. Goyer featuring two of WB/DC’s most popular superheroes, which are in direct competition with Disney/Marvel’s Avengers characters.
