'Daredevil' Relaunch

The Man without Fear will be getting an All-New Marvel NOW! relaunch with a new series by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee premiering in March, Marvel announced. The current Eisner-winning run of Daredevil by Waid and Samnee will end with issue #36 in February, artist Samnee revealed last month on Twitter.
Daredevil #1 will see Matt Murdock relocating to San Francisco, a location that will continue the setting shift introduced in the Infinite Comics digital series Daredevil: Road Warrior, also written by Waid.

GKIDS to Release ‘Ernest & Celestine’ on March 14

New York-based indie distributor GKIDS announced today that it will release the English-language of the acclaimed pic Ernest & Celestine on March 14. The title will first open in New York and Los Angeles and go wide in subsequent weeks.
The just-completed English language voice cast includes Academy Award Forest Whitaker (Lee Daniels’ The Butler), Mackenzie Foy (Twilight: Breaking Dawn), Lauren Bacall (The Big Sleep), Paul Giamatti (John Adams), William H. Macy (Fargo), Megan Mullally (Will and Grace), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), and Jeffrey Wright (Boardwalk Empire).

'Doctor Who' Sets BBC America Record With 50th Anniversary Episode

The Day of the Doctor, the 50th anniversary special Doctor Who episode which aired first on Saturday afternoon and again Saturday night, drew eight times as many viewers as the top show on BBC America the previous week, according to Variety.
The ratings were the best ever for a show on BBC America, faint praise, but a positive result from the massive build-up both for the content (four Doctors, including the legendary Tom Baker), and for the airing as event (see "'Doctor Who' BBC America Takeover," and "Global Simulcast for 'Doctor Who'").

Original Cut of ‘Thief and the Cobbler’ to Screen at Academy

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will screen the rarely seen, director’s cut of Richard Williams’ The Thief and the Cobbler on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. This will surely be a hot ticket as Williams is also expected to be introducing the film. The director’s 1971 Oscar-winning short A Christmas Carol will also be part of the special screening.
The event will take place at the Academy’s Wilshire Blvd. headquarters, in the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre, which also hosts the not-to-miss gallery exhibition, Richard Williams: Master of Animation, which will be on display in the lobby through December 22. This will mark the first time the director’s cut of the unfinished movie will be screening for the public.
