English-Language Cast Announced for ‘The Wind Rises’

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Don Jon) leads the English-language voice cast for Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises. Disney will release the dubbed version of the Japanese master’s final film in February 21. The Golden Globe-nominated titled had its Oscar-qualifying run in Los Angeles and was voted best Animated Feature of the year by the National Board of Review. The film which charts the life and times of World War II fighter plane designer Jiro Horikoshi, has also sparked some controversy for its treatment of Japan’s role in the atrocities of the the war.

'Spidey 2' International Trailer

The international trailer has debuted for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and it not only contains some different footage, it also has a much more optimistic tone than the first American trailer.
"You know what it is I love about being Spider-Man? Everything!" Peter (Andrew Garfield) says over the exact same opening footage as in the American trailer where he was lamenting his lot in life (see "First 'Spidey 2' Trailer").

Netflix to Premiere Polygon’s ‘Knights of Sidonia’ This Summer

Netflix will be offering the complete first 12 episodes of Knights of Sidonia, Polygon Pictures’ much-anticipated anime series in the summer of 2014. The 2D toon is based on the best-selling manga series by Tsutomu Nihei, published in Japan by Kodansha and in English by Vertical, and follows the struggle of humans to survive against the monstrous alien “Gauna” using mecha weapons called “Garde” (Guardian Robots). The story focuses on the ship Sidonia and young Garde pilot Nagate Tanikaze as he uses his amazing combat skills to protect what remains of human civilization.

Venom, Sinister Six Movies In 'Spider-Man Universe'

Sony Pictures and Marvel have announced plans to expand the Spider-Man Universe of films to include two new projects that will star Spider-Man villains Venom and the Sinister Six.
The news came as an announcement of writers and producers tasked with "developing the universe and expanding the story in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, Venom and The Sinister Six" were revealed. The writing team consists of Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon, and Drew Goddard, who are collaborating with Marc Webb and producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach to expand the existing Spider-Man franchise for Sony and Marvel as sort of "brain trust."
