Newly Recovered 'Doctor Who' Episodes Revealed

The BBC has revealed the names of the nine “lost episodes” of the classic Doctor Who series that were found in a storage room in the storeroom of a television relay station in Jos, Nigeria. Eleven episodes were found in all of which nine were missing from the BBC archives. The complete six-episode The Enemy of the World saga from 1967-1968 was found (only episode 3 was in the BBC archive), and five of the episodes of the six-part Enemy of the World serial (only Episode #1 was available previously) were found. Episode 3 of Enemy of the World is still missing, but it has been recreated using stills and an audio track. These two serials will be released on DVD (in the UK) next month, and they are already available on iTunes.

Toei Unveils New Offerings at MIPCOM

Judging from Toei Animation’s eclectic mix of projects at the MIPCOM market this week, the Japanese studio continues to deliver new seasons of favorites as well as original projects to satisfy anime fans worldwide. Among Toei’s top offerings at the market are new seasons of Saint Seya, Driland, Dragon Ball Z and One Piece.
Toei is also gearing up for the global release of the much-anticipated CG-animated feature, Harlock Space Pirate, which has been receiving great word of mouth since it premiered at the Venice Film Festival a few months ago. Also in the works is a new CG-animated feature based on the Saint Seiya property, which is directed by Keiichi Satou (Tiger & Bunny, Ashura), with an original story by Masami Kurumada

New York Comic Con News: Dynamite Entertainment announced today that artist Joseph Michael Linsner has signed on for the first ever crossover event for his creation Dawn, who will join forces with Dynamite’s Vampirella in a six-issue Dawn/Vampirella miniseries that will debut in early 2014. Linsner is creating both the script and covers for the crossover series.
