Shawne Kleckner, Right Stuf’s president and CEO, said, “We know fans of Bizenghast have been waiting a long time for new material, and I'm glad we can make this happen for them!”
“I'm glad to have this opportunity to finally deliver the next volume of Bizenghast! Readers have been waiting for over a year to see the end of this first story-arc, which is a real testament to their patience. Anyone who has been waiting a year and a half to hear from me again is either a true fan or my dentist,” said the series’ creator, M. Alice LeGrow.
TOKYOPOP founder Stu Levy added, “I am truly thrilled to be able to facilitate publication of the latest and greatest Bizenghast volume through such a dedicated partner as RightStuf. Bizenghast has become a true OEL franchise, proving that manga is not about ethnicity or nationality but engaging visual storytelling with compelling characters. Many thanks to the fans and Ms. LeGrow for their patience and continued support!”
Bizenghast was developed and successfully pitched to TOKYOPOP, after LeGrow placed in the publisher’s Rising Stars of Manga contest with her short story “Nikolai.” Propelled by the support of fans who love the dark fantasy’s gothic-style art and themes, Bizenghast has grown into a multi-media work that spans seven (and soon eight) graphic novels, in addition to inspiring a limited-edition art book, a coloring book, a novelization, animated shorts, a tabletop roleplaying game, and a line of merchandise. LeGrow is currently at work on her next graphic novel, The Elephant Book. Fans can find out more about the comic and its successful Kickstarter project at www.bizenghast.com.

Impressed by the young man’s determination, veteran gambler Mr. Pyeong (BAEK Yoon-sik, The Taste of Money) takes Goni on as his apprentice and teaches him all there is to know about hwatu, a card game also known as “The War of Flowers.”
Now Goni is ready to make his debut in an underworld where the stakes are high and the rules are few: To win, you must be ruthless. The hand must be quicker than the eye. No game is safe. And there are no friends for life, just as there are no enemies for life.
