Comic Version of First 'Star Wars' Script From Dark Horse

Lucasfilm and Dark Horse are teaming up to adapt The Star Wars, George Lucas’s original-draft screenplay from 1974.
The Lucas screenplay, which begat—but is much different than—the Star Wars series of films, tells the star-spanning space opera tale of Jedi Annikin Starkiller, General Luke Skywalker, the evil Sith Knights, and a six-foot lizard named Han Solo. Instead of lightsabers, the heroes brandish “lazer swords.”
Written by LucasBooks executive editor J. W. Rinzler and drawn by Vampirella veteran Mike Mayhew, the adaptation will launch in September and run eight issues.

Toei Unveils New Seasons of Saint Seiya and Driland

New seasons of Toei Animation’s top properties, Saint Seiya Ω (Omega) and Driland will debut internationally at MIPTV 2013 according to Hiroyuki Kinoshita, Toei Animation’s managing director.
Previously available only inside of Japan, the debut of these new seasons are a response to high international demand. Saint Seiya Ω, the latest iteration of the long-running property launches season two. At the same time, Driland is entering into its second season as well.

We Can Be Heroes Year 2: Justice League Fights Hunger in Africa Again

DC Entertainment, partnering with Save the Children, International Rescue Committee, and Mercy Corps, is once again combating the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa with the multi-million dollar We Can Be Heroes giving campaign.
The program will provide food, medicine, and other resources to more than eight million desperate people living in Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya, areas plagued by years of drought and political turmoil.
This is the second year of We Can Be Heroes (see "Justice League Fights Hunger in the Horn of Africa"), which DC says is "the biggest philanthropic initiative in DC Entertainment and its parent company, Warner Bros.', corporate history."
