The Simpsons’ Offers Miyazaki Tribute, Stan Lee Visit

Just when you thought The Simpsons would be running out of cool animated guests, we hear that comicbook legend Stan Lee and sci-fi author Harlan Ellison will be appearing (as themselves) on the iconic Fox toon this Sunday. AND, the show is also serving up a fantastic homage to the films of Japanese master Hayao Miyazaki.

New stills from X-Men: Days of Future Past have hit the web, featuring the first look at Evan Peters as Quicksilver, and the confirmation of the villainous Toad appearing in the movie.
The shot of Quicksilver was posted on Comic Book Movie, along with two other shots of Bishop (Omar Sy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence).

Cartoon Hangover Passes One Million Milestone

Frederator Studios’ popular Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel has surpassed one million subscribers, becoming the second-fastest original funded YouTube channel to do so in its first 12 months.
Headed by industry veteran Fred Seibert (exec producer of Adventure Time and The Fairly OddParents), the toon site was launched in November of 2012 and has generated over 17 million unique viewers and over 72 million programming views. Among the site’s hottest original series are Bravest Warriors, Bee & PuppyCat, SuperF***ers and the Too Cool cartoon anthology.

Marvel's 'Original Sin' Crossover

Marvel Comics has announced Original Sin, a new crossover event beginning in April.
The main book will be Original Sin, an eight-part mini-series written by Jason Aaron (Amazing X-Men, Thor: God of Thunder), with art by Mike Deodato Jr. (Amazing Spider-Man, New Avengers). The series will begin in April with a special #0 issue by Mark Waid and Jim Cheung, and then Issue #1 by Aaron and Deodato Jr. debuts the same month.

NOZOMI ENTERTAINMENT Announces the DVD Release of SPACE ADVENTURE COBRA: THE ORIGINAL TV Series, Part 2
GRIMES, IA, January 8, 2014 — Anime producer Nozomi Entertainment is pleased to announce that Space Adventure Cobra: The Original TV Series, Part 2 DVD Set will be available on May 6, 2014.
The DVD set will feature the series' final 16 episodes with Japanese audio, English subtitles and English on-screen translations. On-disc extras will include the U.S. trailer, promotional video and Nozomi Entertainment trailers.
Space Adventure Cobra: The Original TV Series is based upon the best-selling manga (comic) by Buichi Terasawa (Goku: Midnight Eye), which was originally serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump anthology and later collected into 18 volumes. In addition to the 1980s television adaptation, it inspired a feature film, two direct-to-video anime series (2008-2009), a 2010 anime TV series, and three manga sequel series (also written by Terasawa).
This 31-episode television adaptation of Cobra originally aired on Japanese television, from October 1982 through May 1983. It features animation by TMS ENTERTAINMENT CO., LTD. and direction by Osamu Dezaki (The Rose of Versailles, Golgo 13: The Professional).
