Connery’s ‘Sir Billi’ to Screen in the U.K.
Aug,21,2013
by+Ramin Zahed
Sir Sean Connery and his animated doppelganger Sir Billi are making the rounds again this fall. The CG-animated feature Sir Billi, which features the voices of Connery, as well as Alan Cumming and Miriam Margolyes, a great song by Dame Shirley Bassey and a killer soundtrack by Oscar-winning composer Patrick Doyle, will be released in the U.K. on Sept. 13 by Kaleidoscope. The pic is billed as the first animated feature produced entirely in Scotland.
The feature is directed by Sascha Hartmann, based on a script by his wife Tessa Hartmann. Produced by John Frasier and Connery, Sir Billi first screened in the U.S. at the Sonoma Intl. Film Festival in April of 2012. The movie will be available on DVD on Sept. 16 in the U.K.

'Thor: The Dark World' Featurette
Aug,22,2013
by:+Staff
Marvel Studios has released a new featurette for the upcoming Thor: The Dark World, which opens nationwide on November 8th. The HD promo includes commentary from Marvel Studios’ chief architect Kevin Feige, Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor as well as stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki).
It is clear from this promo (and previous trailers, see "'Thor: The Dark World' HD Trailer"), that the action in the second Thor movie moves off-world as the film begins to explore the nine realms. As Taylor put it: "A lot of the fun of the first film was bringing Thor to Earth, and in the second one we will see Jane Foster taken to Asgard and having to cope with that" (just like Thor had to cope with being on Earth in the first film).

'Tron' & 'Oblivion' Helmer Heads to 'The Twilight Zone
Aug,16,2013
by:+Staff
Tron Legacy and Oblivion helmer Joe Kosinski has been tapped to take over the long-gestating Twilight Zone movie project being produced at Warner Bros. under Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way banner. The movie will be loosely based on the classic TV science fiction series created by Rod Serling that ran from 1959 to 1964. Two other Twilight Zone TV series, neither of which was particularly memorable, followed in 1985 and 2002, and a movie adaptation in 1983, which starred John Lithgow, was also unable to recapture the magic of the original TV series. This Twilight Zone movie project has been around for a while. As recently as 2011 Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) was slated to direct the film (see "Peckham to Write 'Twilight Zone' Film").
